Knowing God as our Father

AUTHOR: Roger Fields

To have a royal life first means we need to understand what This Royal Life means to God. Having the ability to walk in a Royal way is revealed by how we live life in public and behind closed doors. It isn’t about religion or denominations at all, it’s about God.

But, how can anyone know how to live a royal life, if they’ve never seen or been allowed to be instructed by the royal patriarchs? Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, (Israel), were instructed by the heavenly Father in how to live as being a part of the kingdom of God, friends in this royal family. I think the biggest thing to understand about living a royal life, is it must be experienced, before you can walk in it with the authority and power that you are supposed to have as a child of God. Most of us are taught to live a life based on the fear of being punished. Hoping that one day we will be knighted at the feet of Christ with an identity as being royalty. Being given a title doesn’t make you a member of the Royal family. It’s all about relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

After saying all of this, the issue I want to get to is on the subject of faith. I have walked in the church as a member for many years. I have seen people speak of faith, as if it were something that was law with no place to receive God’s grace and mercy. First of all faith is knowing something that is concrete, unmovable, stationary, dependable, without any doubt that what you are believing in was going to happen. The word says; that faith is given to us in measurements as a gift from the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 12:4‭-‬11 GNB
There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit gives them. There are different ways of serving, but the same Lord is served. There are different abilities to perform service, but the same God gives ability to all for their particular service. The Spirit’s presence is shown in some way in each person for the good of all. The Spirit gives one person a message full of wisdom, while to another person the same Spirit gives a message full of knowledge. One and the same Spirit gives faith to one person, while to another person he gives the power to heal. The Spirit gives one person the power to work miracles; to another, the gift of speaking God’s message; and to yet another, the ability to tell the difference between gifts that come from the Spirit and those that do not. To one person he gives the ability to speak in strange tongues, and to another he gives the ability to explain what is said. But it is one and the same Spirit who does all this; as he wishes, he gives a different gift to each person.

Romans 12:3 (GNB) And because of God’s gracious gift to me I say to every one of you: do not think of yourself more highly than you should. Instead, be modest in your thinking, and judge yourself according to the amount of faith that God has given you.

Here we should understand that faith comes to us as a gift of maturity from the Holy Spirit. We receive in measurements in the way we can handle it without misusing it. It is by these measurements that we are built up in the knowledge of God as we walk through life with him and learn to know his royal ways of governing his kingdom as Jesus did. It is in this way that we learn to have faith in him that leads us into living as members of a royal family.

Faith is knowing the will of God first. It is not to use to impress yourself or people. Why say to a mountain be uprooted and cast into the sea if the mountain’s not in your way, who are you trying to impress? One of the things I learned a long time ago when I was called into the ministry of Deliverance. Was from Dr. Derek Prince, in his book Blessings and Curses. In this book, he said something very amazing to me. He said if I am sick I will pray, if the sickness leaves it was a spirit, but if 24 hours later I am still sick, then I go to the doctor. We need to understand that faith is knowing how to pray concerning the issue. When to pray and when to act!

Mark 9:28‭-‬29 (GNB)After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we drive the spirit out?” “Only prayer can drive this kind out,” answered Jesus; “nothing else can.”

This prayer that Jesus was talking about had to do with discerning the problem. Prayer is seeking the true spiritual insight and learning to apply the knowledge in faith, knowing the will of God. It is only in this places that faith matures and becomes strong in your trust in God when you can pray, with belief and have the faith to see your prayers answered. All this happens, because you know the heart of God your Father. Because if you don’t know God, and you do all this, what good is it if he says to you in the end. Depart from me you who work in lawlessness, because I never knew you.

You can only have a royal life if your live life with a Royal King. Anything outside of that, is only make believe. Is there doubt in your heart? Is there doubt in your heart that your requests will not be heard by the father? If there is, then how do you expect to live a royal life? Sometimes we just need to ask the Holy Spirit, how to approach the father with the needs we are faced with. When you ask the father for something, do you entertain the doubt that your request will be denied? So, what good is faith, if you doubt and are driven by many different thoughts as to why he would or would not answer your request?

How can we live a royal life, if we do not know how to speak to God, as our Father? So, with doubt, there’s really never anything good to look forward in experience this Royal life.

So, Pray this:

Father, forgive me for not knowing you well enough to know, that when I ask you for something good, that you will not give me something bad. Forgive my doubts concerning whether or not I have the same favor as others. Forgive me for believing that you will answer me the same way my parents did. Believing that what ever I am asking for is always too much. Lord, forgive me for continuing to live life as a slave, instead of living life as one adopted into your family. One who you desire to call your child. One who you desire to refer to you as Father. Your word says, that you will never withhold anything good from me. But for some reason, I expect to be rebuked, and told to stop being selfish and be satisfied with what life has to offer. Father, teach me to believe, so I can come to know your heart and lives by your word. Help me to find this Royal life. Then I will be able to show others the way to This Royal Life as well. In the name of Christ Jesus, amen.

Who are you seeking answers from?

So… what exactly can I say, that would be powerful enough to cause any person to really believe that they could experience a royal life? What could I tell you to change in your beliefs, that may be keeping you from the amazing promises of God?

Here is today’s focus for living a Royal Life.
Psalms 24:4
I have asked the LORD for one thing; one thing only do I want: to live in the LORD ‘s house all my life, to marvel there at his goodness, and to ask for his guidance. (GNB)

When I read the Old Testament, I realized that people centuries ago, then and now, were instructed by the actions of their ancestors, in how and what God they should worship in order to have a life filled with peace and safety. They had their spiritual leaders advise them as to which God they should believe in. So, they ended up with many gods. One god for this and another for that. These gods came through the traditional ways of their family and homelands. They were taught that every land and its people has its own gods. So, to continue to have everything they needed to live free of curses. They needed to know what the name of the god that ruled over the land they were now living in and what this god expected of the people in worship and protection. No one ever taught them that there was only one God. God wanted Israel to reflect this to the world, so the world could see that they only needed to know him. But the world did not know any better. To worship one or many really did not matter. They had never experienced the power of the one true God, only the everyday idols of the false gods of their ancestors.

So why did they have so many gods? Because, they were made to believe it took many gods, not just one. How could one God be enough, to provide for them everything they would need.

This Royal Life starts with one God. An all-powerful, all knowing, omnipresent God. It is because he is all these things and is aware of everything affecting not only me, but the world.

And if any of these other gods were real. Why would they be willing to let you worship another god? I would think exalting other another god would acknowledge to them that they are not all powerful. They have limited power and the other one may have more power than them. Sounds like a war waiting to happen! So, if this is true, then why serve these make-believe gods, who is limited to do only one thing? Why wouldn’t anyone want to know the one true Supreme God, who can do all things.

The word of God states, is there anything too great for the Lord to do? So, to live and have a Royal Life, means to do away with all your family traditions and the gods that they served and seek to know the one true God. He is the only one who died to give you eternal life. The one who says, I will never leave you or forsake you, ever. I will go with you all the way, even to the end of the ages.

So… whom are you seeking for answers, in how to obtain and have this type of Royal Life?

Focus thought:

The Narrow Gate

AUTHOR: Roger Fields

There are many who want to experience the power of doing great exploits for God. But the true power comes in knowing who the Lord is and what this person is willing to do to have a continual audience with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is done only when a person is willing to leave everything behind, by having it cut away. Then they be grafted in to the tree of life and cleave to that which has the greater importance. One must be determined to strive to enter into the narrow place that leads them into the Holy of Holies, where the trinity are seated waiting to see who shows up.

The Narrow Gate.

The Lord shares this message as a part of the sermon on the mount. “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who (choose) enter through it are many. How narrow is the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.

What is a true Disciple.

Just so, every good tree (planting of the Lord) bears good fruit, and a rotten tree (planting of the enemy) bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. So by their fruits you will know them.

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?’ Then I will declare to them solemnly, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you evildoers.’
Matthew 7:12‭-‬23 NABRE

Summary; in order to live a royal life one must enter in through the narrow gate, to become a planting of the Lord that allows them to bear good fruit. A tree that bears good fruit has to be pruned (every year), if they are to have abundant fruit that last. A royal life is about sharing our life with God and allowing him to remove the things that aren’t important to him. It isn’t about the power to do the stuff. It’s about knowing what it feels like when the Father touches you and him knowing us and what is the true focus of our heart. This is what places your name in his book.
Selah!

Stay Thankful

AUTHOR: Roger Fields

Keep your roots deep in him, build your lives on him, and become stronger in your faith, as you were taught. And be filled with thanksgiving. Colossians 2:7 GNBDC

I learned a long time ago when spending time with the Lord, that the only way to pray is as though he had already answered my need. So I thank him for being faithful to take care of me.

I was taught as a young man to say thank you, when some one did something kind for me. To forget this rule came with a reminder to re-enforce the understanding of reflecting manners where ever you went in life.
I believe thankfulness, is the power to maturing anyone in the art of being respectful. First to parents and foremost to our Heavenly Father.

Jesus said; that there would be days like the one we are in. But to be thankful that God is for us and would not withhold good from us.
I am truly sorry for any who have loss friends and love ones during this time. But I am thankful that they are resting with Jesus in Paradise.
There is not one thing I can say to undo this. But I am thankful, that nothing can take or separate us from the love of God.

In view of all this, what can we say? If God is for us, who can be against us? Certainly not God, who did not even keep back his own Son, but offered him for us all! He gave us his Son — will he not also freely give us all things?
Who, then, will condemn them? Not Christ Jesus, who died, or rather, who was raised to life and is at the right-hand side of God, pleading with him for us! Who, then, can separate us from the love of Christ? Can trouble do it, or hardship or persecution or hunger or poverty or danger or death? Romans 8:31‭-‬32,34-35 GNBDC

Don’t let your mind take you into a realm of worry. But focus on thanksgiving, knowing that he cares for you. Then with holy and loving expectations, look to your Father of heaven to move on your behalf. Words of doubt will always block your blessings from God. But let your spirit rise up and speak words of thanksgiving with knowing your prayers have been answered.
